Hoang Dang

Founding Partner

As Design Director of 5G Studio, Dang directs all major strategic design decisions, from the initial phases of projects and ensuring conceptual consistency throughout each delivery phase.

Dang leads a true studio where excellence for clients is achieved in an open professional culture that fosters creativity and innovation from the industry’s leading talent of all ages. A firm believer in collaborative design processes, Dang advances the design intelligence at 5G Studio through the collective talents of younger designers’ perspectives and external expert advisors. A high-level entrepreneurial ethos permeates and drives 5G Studio’s prolific creativity and design success.

The result is award-winning innovation and a genuine honoring of each client and project’s individually specific business goals.
“We are in the business of creating great space,” says Dang. “We are continually inspired and rewarded professionally to know that our firm concept that started in the extraordinary design of furnishings has evolved to catalytic assignments from the world’s premier global brands. We continue with our commitment to our business ethos of the importance of fresh ideas and design.”

Dang’s exceptional design sensibility has produced consistently engaging solutions - ranging from boutique individual resort villas, to million square feet mixed-use hotel/convention buildings to master-planned communities involving hundreds of acres of land in the United States, Vietnam, China, Korea, and Mexico.
A powerful example of American spirit and brilliance, Dang came to the United States in the 1970s as a young boy from post-war Vietnam. A distinguished alumni of the University of Texas at Arlington’s under- and post-graduate Architecture program, he spent his early professional career as a Junior Designer at Polshek and Partners in New York City, before moving on to become an Associate Principal at the Beck Group.

Dang then co-founded 5G Studio in 2005, where he has led the practice to winning awards from the AIA, IIDA, the Center for Health Design, and other invited international architectural competitions. His works have been widely published and selected for exhibition.
