Nothing brings out the masses like the Dallas Cowboys.
Fans, media, Cowboys cheerleaders and team mascot Rowdy were all on hand at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport on Tuesday when the Cowboys organization cut the ribbon on the new Dallas Cowboys Club bar and grill in Terminal A.
“Typically we do these type of events when we’re starting new international service,” said Chief Executive Officer of D/FW Airport, Sean Donohue. “I would say we are seeing more media here for this opening than we do when we get flights to China. I think that says something about the Cowboys brand.”
The ceremony came after a three week soft opening that saw airport customers already flocking to the restaurant.
Equipped with 26 TVs that may not know how to show anything but Cowboys wins, the restaurant teams the Cowboys brand with restauranteur HMSHost to bring a truly Texas taste and experience to the passerby at the airport.
“When people follow a player like Dez Bryant or Tony Romo it’s because of the brand,” said Dallas Cowboys Chief Operations Officer, Stephen Jones. “It’s so important to us because we have a lot of fans out there that never get to go to a Cowboy game. They do travel through D/FW and through this airport.
“There was a study done that only about five percent of NFL fans have ever been to a football game. We think this is a special, special place for people who are on their way out of D-FW and think they’re going to miss the game, but you go in here and you really feel like you’re at AT&T Stadium.”
The restaurant will serve Texas-inspired foods and provide an experience that is very similar to the Legends Club at AT&T Stadium in Arlington. Our Sarah Blaskovich with Guidelive.com has the complete report on the Texas-inspired menu. We dare you to not be hungry after reading.
Everything from light fixtures, to the football shape of the light fixtures at the airport restaurant screams Cowboys and the team’s home stadium in Arlington.
“This is a great experience for people coming through D/FW,” Steve Johnson, President & CEO said at the event. “They get a true local experience. They get to experience the Cowboys with fresh food, a great menu and an open design. If you don’t actually get to go to a Cowboys game you can come here and get the same experience.”
