DALLAS – The Dallas Design District with be Virgin-free no more.
Virgin Hotels will open its fourth location in the U.S. on High Line Drive and Turtle Creek Boulevard in the fast-growing neighborhood in 2018. It'll feature more than 200 guests rooms — or "Chambers" in the Virgin lingo — a spa, pool, and "multiple dining and drinking outlets," according to Laura Kilroy, Virgin Hotels communications manager.
"As with all industries that Virgin enters, we've come to the aid of guests who are tired of being ripped off," Kilroy said. "At all Virgin Hotels, we offer amenities and services that are a right not a revenue stream."
In the case of the Virgin Hotels Dallas, that means free high-speed WiFi, no cancellation fees as long as you call before midnight, early check-in or late check-out without penalty, and a mini bar with prices that don't require a second mortgage. There's also a complimentary social hour for guests, where all drinks are on the house, Kilroy said.

A mock-up of a typical guest room was included in the release. The Chambers feature a sliding privacy door that closes off the dressing room from the rest of the space, offering "an added layer of sound protection between the bedroom and the hallway," if you need to host a heated debate on foreign policy at 3 a.m., presumably.
Virgin Hotels Dallas will be new construction within 33 acres owned by developer Dunhill Partners and it's founder, Bill Hutchinson, in 2014. Other developers involved in the project include Vinculum Partners and The Crosland Group.
"I could not have found a more perfect hotel for the Design District and everything it offers the City of Dallas than Sir Richard Branson's Virgin Hotels," Hutchinson said in a news release. "It will be the heartbeat of the hottest entertainment district and the biggest jewel in our crown."
It's the fourth planned Virgin Hotels property in the U.S.

Virgin Hotels Chicago opened in April 2015 with Branson going full Ferris Bueller on a promotional parade in the Windy City. No word on which scene from Walker, Texas Ranger he'll be recreating for the Dallas opening. Any of these will do.
Virgin Hotels in Nashville and New York are slated to open next.
